Omegapoints and Renova have been nominated as finalists for Sustainable Project of the Year by CIO magazine.

Omegapoint in Gothenburg was hired to build an internet-based service together with the customer with the goal of visualizing customers' waste containers, container status, waste statistics, and the Environmental Benefit function.
Renova is an environmental company owned by ten municipalities in the Gothenburg region, and works with collecting, sorting, handling and recycling waste. Customers range from municipalities to property owners and industry to the construction industry. One of Renova's most important missions is to actively work for and develop all aspects of sustainability and Renova's role in the value chain.
The big challenge for Renova was to solve how all information about the waste process would be visualized and how customers would be able to access and use the information.
In the portal, customers can now see, among other things, environmental and recycling aspects of their waste, such as:.
- how long can an apartment be heated when their combustible waste becomes district heating
- how many new moving boxes can be made from their corrugated cardboard waste.
”"When we were hired by Renova, they had experience of how difficult it can be to get a good digital solution for their customers. Renova had high environmental goals and enormous amounts of data but had not found a way to digitize this for the benefit of customers and partners," says Peo Strand, Business Manager Omegapoint Gothenburg.
Omegapoint has extensive experience in user challenges, understanding design to create behavioral changes, and working in Agile processes. Omegapoint's experience and expertise have been crucial in helping Renova achieve its goal of becoming best in class in digitalization. The result of the project is that Renova's customer portal has been nominated for the "Sustainable Project of the Year" award by CIO magazine.
”"We are of course happy and proud to have had the privilege and trust to support Renova on this journey," concludes Peo Strand.
”"We have built a customer portal with the basic idea of helping our customers manage their sustainability work easier and smarter - from the number of containers and follow-ups to manage sustainability work as part of daily operations, to sustainability reports. We deliver beautiful information that should be easy to manage and not take long," says Mikael Borgman, CIO at Renova.
