Omegapoint Group becomes a partner of Hello World!

Sweden is today a global leader in the rapidly accelerating digitalization and we can rejoice that international heavyweights such as Spotify, iZettle, King and Klarna have emerged from the Swedish digital revolution. Not surprisingly, programmers have grown to be the most common profession in Stockholm County.
Digitalization continues with unabated strength and the need for new engineers and programmers is growing so rapidly that a skills deficit of over 60,000 people is expected to exist in the IT sector as early as 2020. In addition, digital skills will be in demand in more and more industries and companies as business models become digital.
Omegapoint becomes a partner of Hello World!
Omegapoint Group was asked if we wanted to become a partner of Hello World! and we feel honored to be part of an ever-growing group of companies that support this fantastic initiative. With the decision to support Hello World! by becoming the Main Partner of the association, we actively support Hello World!'s work to offer all children and young people the chance to discover and develop their digital skills.
At the association's camps and meetups, students from technical colleges inspire and teach children and young people. The association started with a summer camp in 2016 and today Hello World! already has over 12,000 members and has lit over 2,000 digital stars.
”"For us, it was obvious to become a partner of Hello World! says Anna-Clara Söderbaum, CEO of Omegapoint Stockholm. For several years, Omegapoint has successfully built up programs and activities to build relationships with university students, and through the collaboration with Hello World! we reach the digital stars of tomorrow. The connection between Omegapoint and academic education of engineers and programmers is strategically important for early connections between Omegapoint and the talents of the future. Our student conference is an example of how we successfully build relationships with the academic world and Hello World! is a natural and exciting way for us to take a place in the interest of significantly younger talents for what we are passionate about – digitalization and how it can be done securely,” concludes Anna-Clara.
Hello World!
Hello World! was founded by Ulrika Dellby and Dag Wolters and the association has a broad network of partners from Swedish business, universities and colleges, foundations, the public sector and non-profit organizations behind it.
Hello Worlds!'s goal is to help strengthen Sweden's future competitiveness by promoting digital creation and learning – both among those already saved and among those who have not yet found the interest. To ensure that as many people as possible, regardless of background, can participate, Hello World! offers scholarships and subsidized participation fees based on the household's total income.
In addition to supporting the association financially, Omegapoint Group will also be responsible for the development of a digital mentoring platform that will connect participants with their mentors from camp activities and meetups. Omegapoint will also be involved in the board work of the association.
Digital summer camp during all weeks of the holidays
Children and young people aged 8-18 are given a flying start in our digitalized world. After a busy spring with many meetings and meetups and a successful launch in Gothenburg, Hello World! is now starting its summer camp activities in Ågesta in Stockholm, which this year welcomes over 1,400 children from all over Sweden and Europe. The association has awarded 120 scholarships and almost half of the other participants have received reduced fees thanks to the association's partners. A new feature this year is the "combo camp" where programming and digital development are combined with, for example, street dance, horse riding, golf and philosophy.
