Omegapoint participates in new IVA project on resilient digital infrastructure

2024-10-10

On October 7, the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) launched its new project Resilient Digital Infrastructure, which aims to strengthen the capacity and robustness of Sweden's digital infrastructure. Cybersecurity company Omegapoint is participating together with other selected representatives from business, the public sector and academia.

The new IVA project will run throughout 2025 and aims to improve Sweden's digital infrastructure so that it reaches the same capacity, quality and security as the most advanced countries. The work will prioritize the business environment, but the digital infrastructure of critical societal functions will also be in focus.

Omegapoint sees IVA's operations and the project for a resilient digital infrastructure as strategically important for the development of society, and therefore joins as members of IVA's business council. Our senior security consultants Michael Westlund and Anders Fristedt participate in the project's working groups for technology and system development as well as governance and coordination.

– Today, digital technology is crucial for our critical societal functions such as transport, electricity and food supply. At the same time, there are several wars going on around the world, and in the new era of cyber warfare, the vulnerability of our digital systems is more serious than ever. We are proud to participate in this project together with business, academia, politics and the public sector to jointly ensure Sweden's digital robustness in the near future, says Johan Malmliden, CEO of Omegapoint Group.

IVA's Business Council works to secure the academy's anchoring in the business community and consists of member companies that, together with a designated industrial research group, collaborate for Sweden's development on issues related to business, education and research policy.
