Omegapoint contributes expert competence to national effort against AI-driven cyber threats
As AI fundamentally changes cyber threats, Sweden needs to develop its ability to meet new digital threats. Omegapoint, through AI and security expert Dan Bergh Johnsson, has an active role in a national gathering of forces where authorities, business and research collaborate to strengthen Sweden's cybersecurity. The work has already resulted in concrete initiatives to meet the next generation of cyber threats.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the landscape of cybersecurity. Advanced AI models can identify vulnerabilities, analyze complex systems, and automate cyberattacks with a speed and precision that previously required extensive human resources.
To meet this development, the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) and AI Sweden have brought together experts from the public and private sectors in a national effort against AI-driven cyber threats.
Omegapoint has contributed expertise in AI, cybersecurity and secure system development through Dan Bergh Johnsson, AI and security expert. Dan has also contributed as an author to the report What does Mythos Preview & Project Glasswing Mean for Sweden?, which highlights how next-generation AI models are changing the threat landscape and what consequences this has for Sweden's digital security.
– We are facing a fundamental shift. When AI can be used to find and exploit vulnerabilities at machine speed, we also need to use the same technical power to develop more secure systems and strengthen our defenses. It is about moving from insight to concrete capability, says Dan Bergh Johnsson, AI and security expert at Omegapoint.
From analysis to concrete security capabilities
Within the framework of the national gathering of forces, experts from authorities, research and business have worked together to analyze the changing threat landscape and identify how AI can be used to strengthen Sweden's digital resilience.
The joint work has resulted in several concrete initiatives. Among other things, support is being developed for faster detection and management of cyber threats, AI-based tools for identifying vulnerabilities in software, and methods for security auditing new AI models.
An important lesson is that advanced AI needs to be combined with a deep understanding of how digital systems are developed, operate and protected. The ability to quickly translate technological advances into practical security solutions is becoming increasingly important.
– AI is not only changing how attacks are carried out, but also how we can work with security. By using AI to identify weaknesses earlier and develop more secure software faster, we can create a completely different pace in security work. It is a capability that is becoming increasingly important for both companies and socially critical operations, says Dan Bergh Johnsson.
Cyber-secure AI strengthens innovation and competitiveness
For Omegapoint, the commitment is close to the company's work with secure digital innovation and cyber-secure AI.
As AI takes on an increasingly larger role in organizations' operations and systems development, new opportunities are created to streamline work, improve quality, and strengthen security. At the same time, the development places higher demands on technical expertise, architecture, and control over digital systems.
Omegapoint works to help organizations put AI's capabilities into practice, with security as an integral part of the development process.
– We need to use the full potential of AI, both to create new opportunities and to build more secure digital solutions. Those organizations that manage to combine high development rates with strong security will have a significant advantage. This is as relevant for our customers as it is for Sweden's digital resilience, says Dan Bergh Johnsson.
Collaboration strengthens Sweden's digital resilience
The national gathering of forces shows the importance of gathering expertise from different parts of society to meet increasingly rapid technological development.
For Omegapoint, participation means an opportunity to contribute specialist expertise in AI, cybersecurity and secure system development. At the same time, the collaboration provides valuable experience and insights that can be applied in the work of developing more secure digital solutions for companies and organizations.
– Sweden's strength lies in our technical expertise and ability to collaborate. When we combine knowledge from authorities, research and business, we create better conditions to meet new threats and seize the opportunities of technology. It is work we are proud to contribute to, says Dan Bergh Johnsson.
