An annual survey of the perceived threat landscape among decision makers in critical infrastructure.

Swedish Security Index

For the seventh year in a row, we have, together with our subsidiary Basalt and Radar, conducted the Swedish Security Index survey, where we measure the current threat landscape for decision-makers in socially important activities. Welcome to download the report for 2026, which also serves as an important basis for decision-making.

We see the threats but not the consequences

Sweden, with all public and private activities, is in a security situation where threats are no longer temporary deviations, but part of everyday life. Cyber attacks, disinformation and organized crime constitute parallel threats that interact and reinforce each other. Decision-makers assess the threat picture as very serious. But the challenge does not lie in a lack of insight, but in a lack of how security work is organized and implemented. We see the threats but not always the consequences.

7 out of 10 experience a serious threat

In the seventh edition of our survey, the Swedish Security Index®, we have together with Radar found out how decision-makers in socially important activities perceive the threat landscape today. In this year's report, we see that the figures are high; 7 out of 10 decision makers (70%) feels that the threat is serious.

Information security is a top priority

A generally high focus on security issues driven by both the external environment, regulatory factors and increasing maturity, means that more companies have internal policies and procedures in place. Information security is the area where decision-makers experience the greatest threat. This area is the highest priority among decision-makers and it is also here that the budget is most often perceived to be too low.
